Customer needs and expectations change rapidly and hence car makers are frantically coming up with new designs that will match the future demand. Like its rivals, Subaru is also aggressively planning about the future and its Viziv Performance concept will form the base of many of its future car designs. Subaru has revealed that the upcoming model of Subaru WRX will also be based on the Viziv Performance concept that was previously showcased at the Toyota Motor Show.
A performance-driven car
Subaru plans to build upon its reputation for designing simple but performance-driven vehicles. Hence, the upcoming Subaru WRX will feature less of automation and more of power. Going against the current trend will enable Subaru to not only differentiate but also to retain its position as an exciting sports sedan.
In fact, the Subaru WRX and WRX STI have been featured in Hollywood thriller like the ‘Fast and the Furious’ film franchise. Subaru’s marketing strategy will help it to further strengthen its position in Middle East markets like Dubai where the car has won several awards for its performance.
It is speculated that the upcoming Subaru WRX will have a Boxer engine with a hybrid powertrain and a four-wheel drive. The setup will cater to the performance and power levels that will be expected in the future. An excellent driving experience will be Subaru WRX’s key selling point and hence the company has introduced the hybrid powertrain to achieve its business goals.
The Sporty Style
The new Subaru WRX will be lunched in 2020 and it retains the sportiness of the existing version. Additionally, the new model will be lighter than the present version. The WRX will have a wheelbase that is 1.4-inch longer than the existing wheelbase. The new wheelbase measures 107.5-inch and the length of the car is 182.3 inches.
